Possible children were:

Hi Jackie,

Frederick Robert Mindry born ca. 1880 is shown as son to Frederick Robert and his wife Grace in 1881  ??? (Fred sr's age is mistranscribed I think, should be 24 instead of 34)
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=6568871
RG11/1146 91 9

Marriage Frederick Robert Mindry - Grace Duke Dec 1879 Portsea

Little Fred possibly dies in 1882 and Fred the elder in 1893. I wish I could find the family in 1891, sigh.

Oops sorry - should have read the last post on the other thread - you had this already.

Alfred is already at sea in 1871.

I wonder if this is the family in 1861 - no Frederick shown though.

1861

Grafton Street

Mary Mindry, head, mar, 36, b. Devonshire Devonport
Mary, dau, 12, scholar, b. Hants Portsea

Same family in 1881:

Thanks Tati for the information.  But i am confused now:)  I found Frederick Robert Mindry chris 12 Sept 1858 St Mary's Portsea to parents Robert and Ann on LDS Batch C062615, with brother Alfred christened 22 Apr 1855 St Mary's.  What does this do to our path we are following?
Also, Frederick Robert Mindry b 1858 is shown as a father to Robert Nathaniel Mindry born 1881 Portsea.
Now this is where it gets good.  Robert Nathaniel had a son Alfred George William in South Africa, seemingly following a family name.
HELP:)

This bit seems correct eventhough I haven't a clue where Frederick is hiding on the censuses except for 1881.

Is the source for Robert Nathaniel's parentage trustworthy? Otherwise, if they were my family, I'd get the birth certificate to confirm.

Hi Tati,

I found Robert Nathaniel Mindry birth on freebmd site.  It is also recorded in the family bible as 16 Sept 1881 in Portsea.  Can't verify now if i did find on LDS as server down or some such problem on the site.

Such a pity pound rand rate so bad, but looks like i will need to order from GRO.

Kind regards
Jackie

Yes it would help - I spent 1hour+ and couldn't find either Robert or Frederick Robert or Grace  :( :(

I can't see anything regarding Robert Nathaniel on the IGI, either extracted or member-submitted.
