Cousin Jan.

Yes you have the right number for Edwards 1841 Census entry (HO 107/564-13, ED26, Folio 38, Page 20), I think it is ELDON Street (not Eldon Place)

James, Jane & Family can be found at (on same page Janes Parents & Siblings):

HO107/564-2, ED 39, Folio 11, Page 14, Balmer Place, Carlton Street

Owen OWENS, 45Yrs old, Rigger, Bn Not in County
Eleanor OWENS, 45Yrs old,         , Bn Not in County
Robert OWENS, 14Yrs old, Apprentice Boilermaker, Bn In County
Elizabeth OWENS, 12Yrs old, Bn In County
James DUFFY, 25Yrs old, Boilermaker, Bn In County
Jane DUFFY, 20Yrs old, Bn Not in County
Elizabeth DUFFY, 2Yrs old, Bn In County
Robert DUFFY, 1Yr old, Bn In County

Jane OWENS (James DUFFYs wife) was born in Llanbeblig, Caernarvon, North Wales @1817, she was Christened on 27th December 1818 at Llanbeblig Church

Her Parents Owen OWENS & Eleanor MORGAN were married on 5th July 1815 at Llanbeblig Church

I have a few threads going which hold further info on the Owens & Morgan Families:

Cousin Jan.

Re: the 1841 Census that You posted, John DUFFY (Bn C1820) was listed on the Census as 'Not Born in County'.

His parents were listed as born Ireland, all their children (apart from John) were listed as 'Born In County'.

Also, somewhere in my searches I found Edward DUFFY listed as a 'Dockgateman', which was a job usually given to workers who were either of retiring age or no longer able to do their former job (through Ill Health or Infirmity).

Hi

I am new to this site, but noticed that you made reference to my direct ancestor John Duffy, son of Edward  and Elizabeth, on the 1841 Census.

He was actually born in USA, but I can't find any record of the family arriving in Liverpool, which must have been between 1820 when John was born and 1823 when his sister Sarah was born.  Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Brinjac.

Welcome to RootsChat!

I have just printed the 1841 Census for Edward, Elizabeth & Family and noticed that John was also a Boilermaker (same as My Maternal Ancestor James).

It always makes me smile when I find an Ancestor who had a Trade similar/related to Mine (I was a Plater/Welder).

I have found a few Boilermakers & Blacksmiths on both sides of my Family!

P.S.
Will PM You later!
