STUART family of Kilmington\Axminster
« on: Sunday 23 May 10 21:27 BST (UK) »
Is anyone else on here researching this family.
I am trying to trace the family of my grandmother Mary Rosina Stuart born 4 DEC 1873 in Lambeth, her parents were William Amos Stuart born Axminster c1832 and Rosina Collins born Teignmouth c1852.
I believe William's father was also called William, whose father was Amos, whose father may have been called Samuel.
Also my late mother told me the Stuart side of the family originated from the Isle of Bute
Any help would be most welcome.

Hello Dave

Amos is in my family tree, his wife was Rebecca and Samuel was indeed his father (mother was Mary, he was born in 1764 in Kilmington.

I hope this helps I have more information if you wish.

Alan

Hi Alan,

I had forgotten I'd posted on here. I would be interested in any information you have on the Stuart family. My mother told me that the Stuart's were originally from the Isle of Bute. Do you have any info that connects the family to Bute?

Regards
Dave

Sadly not my Stuarts stay firmly rooted in Kilmington Axminster, I have never made a connection to Scotland rather sadly..
