Hi again...thank you for trying, and that is the key...just keep trying. 8 years ago I discovered that I loved learning, and have probably learned more in these 8 years than in my entire life so far...and I just keep doing so, I have made it fun...the important thing is to try...I would love to do what you and the other members there do... :) Antoinette

WOW...I am speechless!  :) You have done it again Carolyn! that is amazing, I can see my father in law's eyes in his father! You captured a softness that is very pleasing, and isn't it amazing that being married 50 years and her hair is still a natural colour (you might wonder why, but I was told that she combed her hair everyday of her life with tea!)...this was before hair colour! lovely job ...I love it! thank you so much Carolyn...Antoinette

Just keep trying Mr. Tony Freeman, that is the beauty of doing work like this, and you all do wonderful work and a tremendous service for everyone!
just also wanted to ask, I noticed you have the name 'Hall' on your info, are you looking up family in England by that last name? My friend here in Canada, Craig Hall is also looking up his family in England...just curious...thank you again Tony...Antoinette

Yes ... English "Hall" in the north of England.

Got back to 1804 with Peter Hall born in Stockport.
He was a "chimney boy" by the time he was six years old.
Very cruel life and many were killed in being forced to do this work but he survived until he was 80 years old ! !

He became a master chimney sweep but had a fatal accident with a two young boys dying in a mill chimney in Lancashire. Following this, he became a campaigner for banning such use of children for cleaning chimneys and promoted the use of mechanical equipment. He worked as an inspector for a society and took over 400 people to court for breaking the laws. He gave evidence to a Royal Commission and eventually the laws were fully implemented.
