In St Ibar's cemetery Crosstown, there is a beautiful memorial to the 61 people that died in 1968 in Wexford Harbor. The names are recorded least we forget.

There was no plane crash in Wexford Harbour in 1968. I suspect that there may have been crashes previously, as the harbour was the base for US Navy seaplanes in World War I.
However, I believe you are thinking of the crash of an Aer Lingus Viscount aircraft on a flight from Cork to London which was lost at sea in St. George's channel, close by Tuskar Rock, on 24 March 1968. I would know, as I was in Rosslare Harbour that day.

You are correct Sir Crispin, I took part in the initial search for that plane. I seem to remember that there was confusion in the beginning, as to where the crash had actually occurred.

There is a book on the crash written by Mike Reynolds which is still available in Wexford Town bookshops.

Tragedy at Tuskar Rock was written by Dermot Walsh who was a reporter in Wexford at the time. This edition of Tragedy at Tuskar Rock is in a Paperback format. This books publish date is January 1983. There are 89 pages in the book and it was published by Mercier Press. The 10 digit ISBN is 0853426961 and the 13 digit ISBN is 9780853426967.

The book I am referring to is not a paperback version of Dermot Walsh's 1983 book even though both books, rather strangely, have the same title.

Mike Reynold's book is primarily about the findings of a Franco - Australian international team of aviation experts acting on behalf of the Irish Government. Mike was a contributor to the 2002 study by Exp'Air SARL of Le Vesinet in France.

The book was published in 2003 - back cover with ISBN number etc attached.
