ok, i just found the cemetery william gillespie was buried in , montrose old cemetery angus.
i googled crancel braes, is it a road?

Yep - Crancel means Council house
Braes - means hill

so council house on the hill!

No doubt it will have been renamed by now though....or redeveloped

Oh I had not realised that they were the same place...as Mt Road seems to be very flat!
