Robert Owen or Owens b.1863

Ive been tracking my gg grandfather back through the census's of wales with inconclusive results;-

1911 census - living with wife Mary and 4 children in  Gyffin near Conwy

1901 census - living with wife Mary C and 2 children in Gyffin nr. conwy

Marriage cert. 1898 - states Robert owen marrying Mary Catherine Jones both living in gyffin - and listing his father as Daniel Owen a carpenter.

Jump back to 1871 wales census - Robert Owens living with parents Daniel (a joiner) and Lucy in gyffin

1861 wales census - again living with parents Daniel (a joiner)and Lucy Owens in gyffin.
Surely it is too much of a coincidence for them not to be the same robert

Any theories ?

Hi,
between 1862-63 on most census's and place of birth is always
Gyffin, carnarvonshire.

Still struggling to find a Daniel Owen (carpenter) to go with Robert Owen?

It looks to me you have the family 1871 and 1861 ok it states Joiner but is'nt a joiner a carpenter?
Or am I missing the point?
 If you need ultamate proof you need Roberts birth certificate will give both parents name and address or place of birth. has you already have his fathers name thats a start!

Yes a joiner is a carpenter (as I myself am one), but the whole crux of the problem is whether the name Owen and Owens could have been mixed up when the census was taken - do you think that a possiblity back then??

Relooking at your info I realize its the mothers name 1861 is lucy  but on marriage certificate is Mary  Catherine.

Yes, I was working backwards from 1911 - Mary Catherine Jones is Robert Owen's wife.

Lucy Roberts (i think) is Daniel Owens wife.

Looks like another certificate then    - (ancestry.coms family tree's are down as well so I can't even cross check my info on them either)
