Charles Fergusson was governor general 1924–1930 and Bernard Fergusson 1962–1967
so neither fit into the time frame

Also I remember seeing Sir Bernard and dad together at a school function and they were a similar height. This guy is quite short!

I think now, after due consideration

that it is indeed Sir Walter Nash. He certainly had the build in his younger days - and it isn't any of the others mentioned..........
