George Henry HODGES
« on: Sunday 16 May 10 08:35 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find information on George Henry Hodges - he was born in Feb 1892 at Gunbay NSW.  His parents were John Hodges and Florence Waldron.  Florence died 6 weeks after George was born.  He listed on his fathers death certificate in 1919 and after that he seems to have vanished.  There is the death of a George Henry Hodges in Nyngan in 1954 aged 63 with parents as George Hodges and Mary Reid - these were my Georges Uncle and Aunt - I wonder did they bring him up.  Thanks Ken

Hi

There is a George Henry Hodges on the electoral roll 1936 and 1943 at Gunnedah NSW, labourer, appears to be single.

Checking the births in NSW there does not appear to be another George Henry born in the same time period.
I also checked for his service in WW1 but couldn't find any.

Thanks for that - I found that on the electral roles- There is no other birth for George and Mary for a son by this name however there were several of their children born in 1890's that have no birth reigstration either so that does not prove much.  I really feel that my george Henry was taken in my his aunt and uncle George and Mary after his mother died  its just proving it - Ken
