My grandmother married in the UK, she married Edward Arthur Doughty in Woolwich 1933.

I have most of the details of her life in England but not Ireland.

Thanks for that. William, that might be the missing child.  It says 6 living on the 1911 census, but only 5 showing.

It all helps.

I now have the marriage certificate for George and Sarah.  Could anyone help with the following information.

The cert is dated July 31st  1890

It says on the certificate that the residence for George Ryder was.......

Sailing Vessel Robert and Elizabeth now lying at Waterford.

His profession is Sea Captain and also his fathers profession was the same, he was  John Ryder.

I can't find any ships called that or any reference to any Ryders being Sea Captains.

Can anyone assist?

As a small boy  I met  Sadie Ryder who was a good friend of my late aunt Lily Stewart of New Ross.
Sadie married George Tyrrell who was a master mariner, no doubt one of the well known Arklow shipping  family.
