ST PANCRAS HELP NEEDED PLEASE
« on: Saturday 26 March 05 21:44 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone please help? In my family tree I have a Cornelius MEADE bc1820 (in Somerset) who married ELIZABETH MAIDMENT in St Pancras in 1851. I have been unable to trace either of them since. Is there anyone who can guide me in the right direction please to finding them?

Thanks

Ruby

Hello,

Had a quick look and there is a possibility in 1861 the index of http://www.1837online.com/Trace2web/  - this is a paysite so to look at the actual census record you would have to register unless somebody else looks it up for you.

MEAD, Cornelius 40 M
MEAD, Elizabeth 47 F
MEAD, Harriett 5 F
MEAD, William 8 M

Registration district is West Ashford.

Best of luck
Jonathan

Hello,

While searching (in another topic) for a Samuel Meade who migrated from England to Ontario (Canada) in 1870, I found in the Quebec Passenger Lists Index 1865-1900 (from Library and Archives Canada site), the arrival at Quebec (Quebec, Canada), 06 May 1869, on the "Crocodile", the family of Cornelius Mead (42), Elizabeth (48), William (17) and Harriett (14).

They clearly match the family you are looking for.

A quick search on Family Search provided the marriage of a Harriet Mead, 23 (daughter of Cornelius M. & Elizabeth Maidment) with a Daniel Sullivan, on 30 Jan 1879 at Hamilton (Ontario). Indicating that the family was still in Canada by then.

I hope that this will be of some help, after all these years without reply...

Hi minotauros

According to her profile, Ruby2 hasn't been online here since 2006.

As long as she hasn't changed email addresses she should receive notifications that we have posted and hopefully come back soon.
