Yes, we co-operate already. She's a second cousin of my wife, both of whom have the sister of Alexander T Bagley, Rose's father, as a great grandmother.

The Death Record for Alexandria states she died 9 Jan 1967 - Riverside. California.  Have you contacted Riverside Public Library - they will do obituary/newspaper look ups - this link gives an address to write to, although it may take 4 - 6 weeks by mail. the service appears to be free.

Yes, I will let you know what happens. I'm hopeful as in the past I've found most libraries more than willing to help.

I have now been told that both Rose and her sister Alexandra attended UCLA so the puzzle is gradually being filled in.

 - there is a 1942 obituary which mentions "Miss Alexandria Bagley of Riverside" and "Miss Rose Bagley"

http://books.google.com/books?id=2u3mAAAAMAAJ&q=%22Rose+Bagley%22+%22Los+Angeles%22&dq=%22Rose+Bagley%22+%22Los+Angeles%22&lr=&cd=2
 - this mentions a "Rose Bagley Sarri" (Mrs Wm)

Thank you jorose for those links. The obit is the obit of their father Alexander. Rose Bagley Sarri is the lady in question as I have received an email regarding her involvment with the founding of the UCLA chapter of the sorority, Theta Phi Alpha.

More of the puzzle put together. Thank you again

Jorose - thank you again for the Sarri link. I was able to track a 1935 marriage to William Sarri (b 1903 d 1967). Not a successful marriage, they were separated by 1942, divorced by 1945 and he remarried. She is mentioned in her mother's obit in 1946 as 'Miss Bagley'. As a Catholic she may never have remarried. Her death doesn't appear in the California Death Index under either name

This is a rather old thread, but if anyone is still following, I can provide this information. The source is her sister who said that, according to Rose, the marriage to Wm. Sarri was bigamous and that he had not abandoned his first wife and family when he married her. That happened before the death of her mother, Jennie Bagley. Rose was still alive at the time of Alexandria's death (1966) and boarding in Death Valley with a Mormon family. Possibly the marriage was annulled. She definitely used her maiden name after the separation.
