A good piece of information, this provides an upper date/year that I now know that my Great-uncle was not at the Golden Lion and therefore assume that his tenure spanned the war years to the early 50s.

I received a reply to my letter in the Bridgnorth Journal from a 76 year young resident.  Thanks again for the suggestion, this has provided a few more snippets of information.
