PAGET Boddington Staverton Lookup Please
« on: Tuesday 11 May 10 06:26 BST (UK) »
Hi Folks

I'm trying to track down my elusive 2G grandfather, William Paget. b abt 1833. He married Elizabeth Hyett in 1863 and I have found them on census 1871 through 1901 in Boddington & Staverton parishes.
The marriage certificate states that William's father was Henry.
I can't find any trace of the family before William & Elizabeth's marriage.
I am hoping some kind person will be able to do a parish records lookup for me and see if there is any trace of his birth/baptism. I couldn't find him on the LDS website either.

Thanks
Lynsey

Hi Lynsey and welcome to RootsChat  :)

What was Henry's occupation?

The 1851 census shows this family that might be worth investigating:

1851
HO107/1968 81 24
Brimpsfield, Gloucestershire

Henery Patchet, head, 48?, Ag lab, b. S**ford (something)
Sarah, wife, 37?, b. Cowley
William, son, 17, Ag lab, b. do.
Elizth, dau, 16, b. do.
Sarah A, dau, 14, b. Upton St (something)
George, son, 8, scholar, b. Brimpsfield
Edwin, son, (can't read age), b. do.
Sarah Bla**well, wid, 67, Alms Person, b. Cowley

Sorry, the image is very bad!

Well Tati, aren't you the clever one!  :D

On William & Elizabeth's marriage certificate Henry is a shepherd, so I think you have found them.

I've been searching the census on Ancestry.com for long time and it never came up with any of these.

Thankyou so much, I will investigate further

Lynsey
