Does anyone have or know if there is any transcriptions of Memorial Inscriptions of Rankinston cemeteries?

I would like to try and look for the following couple

Samual DUNN
b. 1854, Ireland
d. 7 Oct 1909, Rankinston, Ayrshire, Scotland

Margaret MC CREADY
b. 27 Feb 1855 Port Patrick, Wigtonshire, Scotland
d. 12 Oct 1922 Rankinston, Ayrshire, Scotland

Re Samuel Dunn/ Margaret McCreadie.This is part of my paternal Stewart family.
Samuel born abt 1853 Ireland :Occ-coalminer:Margaret.born abt 1854 Port Patrick Gallowayshire Scotland Married  Dec 10 Dalry Ayrshire Scotland:I do have info on their children
1.John Dunn b-1876 Dalry Ayrshire.
2. Elizabeth Dunn 1882 Coylton Ayrshire.
3.Agnes Dunn b 1884 Coylton Ayrshire.
4.Samuel Dunn  was born 1885-May 18  1885 Stair Ayrshire,[online birth cert.],He married Christina Stewart 28 Sep 1905, 11 Hawkhill. Ayr Ayrshire  He died 19 Jan 1947 04 Hill Street  Saltcoats Ayrshire. Occ - Ironstone miner.Parents of Christina John Lawrie Stewart of lanarkshire Scotland  and Catherine Callow of Isle of Man England]
Children-
1.Violet Dunn who married John Burgess and had  2 children-Peggy and unamed male.I have little more on them despite looking!
2. Janet Dunn-little more known.
3.Daisy Dunn- little more known.
4. Claude Dunn born 1912.Rankinson Ayrshre died 1990 Saltcoats Ayrshire.Married -[Molly] Mary Campbell Clark.1941 Ardrossan Ayrshire She was born 1910 Govan Lanarkshire Scotland .Died 1991 Saltcoats AyrshireThey had no children.
I knew them but have no facts They lived in Stevenston.Claude was part of the Stewarts and cousins joint owners of Ayrshires A1 Bus Service.each owned a few buses and were responsible for eaches share ,garaged,money,staff etc.They pulled their  timetable and provided  public bus services around Ayrshire-Ayr- Largs.The services were bought over by agreement of owners to Stagecoach bus services around 1970/80.My Father's being the last hold out.

This is fantastic, definately the same family. My mother had spoken of family members that owned a bus company but she wasn't sure exactly who.

A little more info. I had  some problem getting around some of the info I had so I did a double check .Most was on the mark but there were a few dates and places off in some of the census so i checked BDM records.
So Child 1 of Sam and Mgt-
John Airdrie Dunn was full name.b-18 Jun 1876 Dalry Ayrshire.Married Mary Adams.26 Nov 1897 Rankisnston Ayrshire,she was born abt 1877 Drougan Ayrshire-1901 census old Cumnock Ayrshire,Children-Elizabeth born 13 Oct 1899 Rankinston: Samuel b-08 Jan 1898 Rankinston.Also on census were 2 mysteries A grandson,[of whom ?]Dougal Burnside b-1876 Murkirk Ayrshireand 'grandmother [again whose?] Mary Burnside b- 1836 Muirkirk.
#2-Elizabeth Dunn b-23 Apr 1881 Coylton Ayrshire.
#3 Agnes McCreadie Dunn. b-31 May 1883 Coylton Ayrshire.

sorry if i confused you but I needed to straighten out a few things so I don't steer you wrong..
Re: Claude and Molly,[Sam and Christina] Of the Dunns these were the 2 I recall.They attended my Sister Wendy's marraige and my 'Blessing ceremony'-]I married in Texas USA,so held a ceremony for all family and friends in Saltcoats.]Claude was a quiet polite soul I recall.I used to see his car parked n the main st. Stevenston where he 'visited 'the local pub! Also I still have the beautiful crystal vase they gave Garry and i as a wedding gift.[center of my display case]I may be wrong on whether he was a bus owner I have a book somewhere that lists all owners, I need to go find it and check.

Susan Dunn was my great grandmother, she married a Joseph Nutt and they lived in the mining rows at Killochan pitt and then after he passed away in a freak mine accident she and her 4 sons Samuel (my grandfather) George, Joseph and I want to say James (aka Jim) lived in Crosshill.

Interesting that you mentioned Stewarton, I have friends there and it is where I stayed while I was visiting recently.

Joseph Nutt was b. 1876 in Galston and married Susan Dunn on the 12 November 1917 in the Glasgow area. He died on the 25 May 1929 when a large boulder in the roof of the killochan mine above where they entered/exited dropped and fell on him.

Susan Dunn was affectionately known as Granny Nutt in Crosshill and by the rest of my family up there. She passed away in 1974 at the ripe old age of 78.

At the moment my research is aimed at the Irish connections for both the McCreadies and the Dunn's. Let me have a look see what you've posted from the top end of these families and I'll get back to you in a few with more of what I have.

Ok of the couple Samuel Dunn b. 1854/3ish and Margaret McCreadie let me start with the Samual Dunn side.

From their marriage certificate I found his parents names were Michael Dunn and Margaret Dunn Nee Airdrie.

I have found a marriage in Ireland for one Michael Dunn and Margaret Airdry.

7 Sept 1848, Ballycopeland Presbyterian church, County Down.
Michael Dunn ~ Address: Donaghadee, Occ: Shoemaker, Full Age, Widower, Father : James Dunn, Shoemaker.
Margaret Airdry ~ Address: Donaghadee, Full Age, Spinster, Father: Adam Airdry, Farmer.

Samuel Dunn's father is listed as a gardner on Samuel's marriage cert but that's the only discrepancy.

This is as far as I've got on this line, I am stuck searching for records but finding nada. I looked at one that I thought might have been Michael Dunn's first marriage but no cigar. I was hoping that perhaps if there were any MI's of them in Rankinston it might give us some additional clues.

On the Margaret McCreadie side.

I have her parents as James McCreadie and Agnes McQuater from her marriage certificate.
I also located her birth certificate as she was born in that magical year of 1855 it has a lot of info. It shows her parents were married in Portpatrick in 1854.

Their marriage record however is unfortunately just before civil reg so it's just a simple parish record that states they were both residing in that parish and got married on10th October 1854.

One thing I have noted is that James McCreadie must have been married before as on the 1861 census they have a 12 year old Sarah McCreadie living with them and listed as a daughter, this would place her birth before their marriage, plus Margaret McCreadie's birth cert states she was Agnes McQuaters first child.
