marriage follow up census request please
« on: Monday 10 May 10 15:25 BST (UK) »
hi

im trying to prove the impossible here.
the sisters of my ancestor charles turner ive not been able to find anywhere.
plus its been a while since i touched the research so im a bit rusty. moving house didnt help.
these girls all had common names so that makes things a little difficult.
so trying to prove that the marriages for them are the proper ones.
i have here
catherine mary turner born islington 1875.

so looking at marriages after 1891 when she turned 16.
ive found one in 1898 june quarter in edmonton where the family had been living at the time.
to either charles baskforth daniel (quite an unusual name here)
or samuel morley.

so are either of these men married to my catherine mary?
can anyone look them up in any of the census after that time to check on the age of htis wife to see if it is our girl.

ive found most of the rest of the tree except for these sisters. its very frustrating.

ive checked births after 1910 to see if there are any daniel/turner births or morley briths
for the first one there is just 2 unfortunately after the 1910 census
robert sep 1914 and lily jun 1917

for the morley one there are loads. too many to check on.

can someone help me solve this mystery.

HI there Kascon

What's her dad's name/job and which was the last census you found the family on?

Catherine Mary Turner married Samuel Morley on 19 June 1898 at St Michaels Wood Green- she was 22 and her dad was William a plasterer.

Is that your girl?

blast no it looks liek a fake.
doh. her father was charles
oh well back to the drawing board.

thats the problem im having
these girls are  just too common.
not that they are common lol but their names are.

ive got
annie elizabeth born c. 1870 (even her birith is too common to look up)
louisa   b. 1871
catherine mary b 1875
and ellen b 1882
there is a big gap in kids as there was a couple of girls born that didnt survive.

we have no idea what happened to these girls when they grew up.
so if anyone can help me. .....
ive been working on this family for some time now.
the problem is the timing is wrong as by the time they are adults then turner is a common name in london.

It's not a fake  ;D it's just that it's not the right family.

As Liz says if you can give us more info-dad's job and mum's name would help too.

I might be able to find some baptisms or marriages of the kids.
