1851 look up please in Haverfordwest. COMPLETED.
« on: Saturday 26 March 05 17:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am searching for information of THOMAS HENRY CORBETT who died in Haverford West, Pembrokeshire in 1853. I don't have any other information to offer on this man. I don't know his age or who he would have been living with. I am not sure whether he belongs to my Corbett line or not, therefore I need to see what information the 1851 census gives of this man and his family. .... can someone please help me by looking up THOMAS HENRY CORBETT  on the 1851 census of Haverford West.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Lin.

Sorry but I can't find him on 1851  :-\

There's a birth of Thomas Corbitt in 1852 Haverfordwest so I wonder whether it was a baby who died in 1953. Thomas Henry Corbitt died 1853 Haverfordwest 11a 358

I found a John and Margret Corbett in 1851 at Whitechurch, St David's, H'west district
HO107 Piece 2479 / 145 Pg 8

Also Patrick and Mary Corbett in 1851 at Hubberston, Milford, H'west district
HO107 Piece 2477 /153 Pg 2

Kind Regards
Morgan

Without wishing to sound perdantic, and for the sake of accuracy there are absolutely no events related to the Corbitt surname in Havefordwest during the 19th century.
The events mentioned in this thread all occurred in one of the many parishes that are covered by the Haverfordwest Registration District which is largely based on the parishes covered by the old Rhos Hundred. The full parishes for each registration district are listed on Free BMD.
The family you are interested in all relate to the parish of Hubberston where children including Thomas Henry Corbett (born 1852 & bapt 1852) where all baptised.
Besides Thomas H. a further 5 children where baptised with the surname Corbett in Hubberston between 1846 and 1873.
Looking at the surname location & surname rarity, then what comes to my mind is Irish and Army.
In 1861 Mary Corbett resides as a widow with her son Charles who had been baptised in 1846 at Hubberston. Patrick had died in 1856.
Patrick appears to have mrd in 1844 probably in Hubberston or St Ishmaels to Mary (??), Free BMD show Mary Bevans or Mary Cozens but the baptism of neither appears in circa 1820 at St Ishmaels.
The baptism at Hubberston post 1856 are probably down to Edwin Corbett mrd 1869 probably at Hubberston to Sarah Ann Morris, who was baptised at Herbandston in 1849. Lets not also forget the mrge of Margaret Corbett in  1859 again I would guess at Hubberston.
Just to confuse more there is a mrge of a John Edmund Corbett in 1871 at one of the parishes, chapel or registration offices covered by the Narberth Registration District.
Hope this is of assistance.

My Pembrokeshire military headstone database 1722 to 2006 holds reference to the 1st/10th Btn, 2 references to the 8th Btn, one of which later transferred to the RFC of the Manchester Regt, alas no references to the 9th.

Hello Linda  :)

Are you saying that this thread is no longer required now and can be completed?
Just trying to find out which old threads are still required and made an assumption that if someone is still "active" on RC then the info is still required...

Kind Regards
Morgan

Hello Morgan,

Yes, please feel free to delete the thread.  ;)   To be honest, I'd forgotten all about it, but I  discovered a long time ago that the Thomas Henry Corbett of Haverford isn't connected to my family line.

Many thanks,  ;D
