Don't forget the census only shows where a person was on census night, so he may not actually be living with his grandparents, he may just have been having a "sleep over"

Have you checked out the Medway CityArk website ? They have most of the Parish Records from the Medway area up to Dartford on line, including Northfleet.
You can check out Births Marriages and Burials all for FREE.
It is a really good site.
