Would someone looking up a Birth register at St.Clement Danes Westminster for me please?
John Thomas MASTERS b: c1829.   or his sisters, Harriet b: c1833 and Mary c1836.
His parents were Thomas MASTERS, clinker and Harriet (Jones) MASTERS.

Hi

A clicker is shoe-maker who cuts out the leather for making the uppers.

Civil registration began in England and Wales on 1st July 1837 so all the births listed for this family will only appear in church parish baptismal registers.

1841 census HO107 712/5 folio 19
New Rulland? Street East of Bedford Street Stepney
Thomas Masters 35 Shoe m
Thomas Masters 13
Harret Masters 40
Harret Masters 8
Mary Masters 5
all born Middlesex
adult ages, those over 15, usually rounded down to the nearest 5 on the 1841 census

Stepney is the east side of the City of London as St Clement Dane Westmister is the west side. Westminster parish registers are held at Westminster Archives. They are not part of the Ancestry digitilisation project with the London Metropolitan Archives and the Guildhall Library (except where the LMA hold the Bishop Transcripts - copies of the registers sent to the Bishop every year).

St Clement Dane's baptisms are indexed by the IGI

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyLondon_including_Middlesex_(N-Z).htm#W

These children's baptisms don't appear.

18th July 1825 St George the Martyr Southwark Surrey
Thomas Masters
Harriat Jones
Bachelor and spinster of the parish
Harriet signed with a cross
Witnesses both signed with a cross William and Jane Hurst

Southwark is just south of the river Thames - again east and nearer Stepney.

What evidence do you have for the family being in the Westminster area for the baptisms of their three children?

Did the family emigrate after the 1841 census? They are more difficult to spot on the 1851 census.

Hi

Information on Henry Lance and his orphanage established initially for the children of cholera victims from the 1866 cholera outbreak

http://www.peterlance.name/lancelineage/revhenrylance.html

The orphanage was only open between 1867-1871

and the cholera outbreak 1866
