Old Monkland, Glasgow
« on: Saturday 08 May 10 08:59 BST (UK) »
Trying to find location of my fathers birthplace in 1922 - Birth certificate says:
'The Quarry, Braehead' and is registered in 'Western District, Old Monkland, County of Lanarkshire'

Nothing on modern maps other than Braehead Shopping Complex !

Can anyone help ? Thanks

Old Monkland is part of Coatbridge

There is a present day Braehead Avenue just off Old Monkland Road

After looking at Jackiemc's link I checked www.old-maps.co.uk and it looks like Braehead was next to present day Bargeddie
