Tracing John WIMPRESS

John Wimpress married Mary Kelly in NSW 1835.  They had 2 daughters, Ann and Mary.  They moved to Victoria.  Mary Snr died 1859 aged 52.  I can't find a death record for John Wimpress in VIc or NSW.  Can anyone shed some light on him?  Many thanks.

It should state if John was alive or deceased.

Can't see a death for Mary or Ann either

I have no details of his parents at this stage.  He was still alive when his wife died.  One of his daughters (Ann) married a Richard Cashin, but I can't find a record of that marriage.  I am currently waiting for NSW records to send me John's marriage record, but can't guarantee what info will be on that as back in 1835 they were pretty basic, apparently.

The marriage record in 1835 will be a transcribed parish record.  Civil registration did not commence until 1856 in NSW.

I would think you have the births regs of the three children to Richard and Annie registered in the name CASHEN.

Was your John WIMPRESS the convict b. c1797 who arrived on the FLORENTIA?

The details on it may include which  cemetery and other useful information.

I noticed the year of the marriage was 1839 on the indexes.  Perhaps a typo

It would appear they had three children and Mary b.1842 died but there is no parish record for her death.

There does not appear to be a death registration for your John  in the Vic indexes and I have used all sorts of spelling variations and wild card searches.

A possible.  I cannot immediately see any events or records for a man by this name (perhaps someone else will), so it may be a wierd misprint for WIMPRESS.
