New Cumnock Cemetery
« on: Thursday 06 May 10 20:04 BST (UK) »
Hi,

i was wondering if anyone could give me some information on this cemetery.   Is it large/small/medium sized,   is it still open for burials?

Basically my gf is buried there,    and if its a tiny cemetery i was wondering if someone wouldnt mind having a look for his grave for me & taking a photograph.

If its a large cemetery then of course i wouldnt expect someone to go searching for hours and id be happy to get in touch with the records place and get a plot location number.

Can anyone offer me any information on this site please.

Kind thanks

Aston  :)

Hello Aston,

I am nowhere near New Cumnock but I have visited the cemetery.  It looks to be still in use and I would call it medium sized, with the number of graves in the hundreds.

There is a good photograph at http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=12422592 (top photograph), and Google street view has a very good view.  Use 35 Afton Road as its location.

Regards,

John
