A possible trace of Albert William Ellams, as I can't see him in Canadian censuses or WWI records (there is "a" Albert Ellams but his birth date and next of kin/birthplace on WWI records is wrong)
In US Navy, enlisted 1907:

Tried to do a search for Eliza and Walter on 1911 census - no record found. Now after your comment Carol I will have to pursue it.
Thanks again everyone.

Walter Jackson Ellams (on the 1911 census according to the index) is in Kingston registration district. Surname is transcribe in the index as Ellarias. He is not in an institution.

Regards

Valda

Anne ,if you spell his surname the way Valda has said you should find it okay.

He's the only chap with a load of ladies  ;D

Really frustrating, but I can't get a response - always no record found.  Can you give me the street name for Walter and Eliza in 1911 and maybe I can find them that way?
Thank you

Eliza Jane and Emily Alice appear to be together on the 1911 census in Kensington - surname spelt Ellams.

Valda

Anne,

I know you are having trouble finding the rest of the Ellams family in 1911.

Did you read this that Valda found for you back on the 5th May?

Just Ellen to look for then.....she marries in Hammersmith in 1919 so shouldn't be too far away. Will reply to your PM in the morning.

Regards

Carol

Eliza Jane Ellams married George R Bowden in Fulham in Dec 1929.

Ref 1a page 857.

She would have been quite old by then....so not sure if it's the same one, but  it's a fairly unusual name.

Could this be her death?

Sep 1938  in Kensington

Eliza J BOWDEN age 83  ref 1a 157

Hi Carol
I think this must be right regarding Eliza & George Bowden. I was told by my aunt that Eliza remarried and lived in Fulham in the signalman's cottage, Seagrave Road. I looked George up in 1901 and he was living in a cottage in Seagrave Road and was a carman. These were usually linked to the railway so it all seems to make sense. Also Ellen May her daughter listed her address as Seagrave Rd when she married so there seems to be a family link.

Thank you again for your efforts.
