Royal Field Artillery

Can any one help me trace my grandfathers ww1 royal field artillery records. on his medal roll card the only information is his registration No 114719 can't make out his rank looks like Gnr but there isn't any other details where can i go to find out more

Hi drewlear,

My grandfather was in the Royal Field Artillery too. The Gnr is most probably Gunner abbreviated, have you tried looking on the National Archives for more info. I believe thats where I found the online details for my grandfather, even down to his eye colour, height,  whether he had any scars in his case he had tattoos. It also gave details of his wife and children and their dates of birth and of course marriage date of him to our great grandmother.

I had a quick look on A******Y but could only see one man who matched yours and there only seemed to be a medal card for him. No service docs.
