stuck

I registered on rootschat on April 21st. I was browsing and amazingly came across a forum topic which related directly to my fathers side of the family. I posted a reply but the originator has'nt been online since. Is there anything or anyway I can get in contact with them.

The only way to contact another member is either to post a reply on their thread or to send a PM (personal message)- just remember members need 2/3 posts to use this. Then, it's just a matter of waiting.

Is this the thread?

If so, Huggs who started the thread has been online tonight.

You need to make one more post to qualify and then you can send him a pm

Just reply to this post and that's your 3

Then go to the post you are referring to and click on the little green scroll under the originators name - sending a pm is a bit like sending an email

Hi Mary
I am also trying to get in contact with this person (huggs) about the post. I sent a reply (see below) but also wanted to get in contact with you as I read your reply too. The info below will explain who I am. So your grandfather was Ned Doyle and your father James Doyle. Ned spent his final years living with my aunt Brenda Carey in Carlow. I would love to get more info on your side. Can we get in contact and exchange info/photos. I have some photos of Ned and there was also a book about him and his political life. He was a TD here from 1923 - 1932. I am gathering lots of stuff that might be of interest to you and it would be great if I could trace from Ned downwards. Do you know much about his parents Patrick and Mary or his wife - your grandmother of course? What was her maiden name? Mary E Lena Doyle is on Neds gravestone. Ned's gravestone states that Mary is buried in the old cemetery at Ballon Carlow but I could not find her grave when I went there. So, perhaps we can get in contact and share info. You can contact me at (*) if you like

hope to hear from you soon

Hi Huggs
My name is Gerard Foley and I live in Carlow. I discovered your post recently while researching my own family ancestry. My grandfather was Michael Doyle (younger brother of your great grandfather David Doyle and Edward (Ned) Doyle). So Michael and Ned would be uncles of your grandmother. I was very interested to find your post. I don't have any photos of David I'm afraid but may have some soon. I do have photos of Michael and Ned and the whole Doyle family - my mother is Attracta Doyle, daughter of Michael. David was a little older, he was 31 when Michael was 20 and Ned was 23. I have the same Census info from 1901 and 1911.
Do you have any photos of David and family/descendants that I could get a copy of,  along with a brief history. I can supply you with anything of interest from Davids side. I recently went to Ballon cemetery to find any graves. As you know, Davids parents where Patrick Doyle and Mary Breen. Do you have any info about them? I could not find their gravestone as most are completely eroded and illegible. I don't yet know where David is buried. Perhaps you could help with that also.
I would appreciate anything you have and can help with the Doyles side

Thanks
