Who Do You Think You Are - Eighth Series
« on: Tuesday 04 May 10 19:36 BST (UK) »
Is it to early to start talking about this?

It will certainly be on later this year, and, as stated in the thread WDYTYA - Rumours, it looks like two of the episodes will feature Konnie Huq and David Schwimmer. For all you daytime TV fans Richard Madeley has also definitely filmed an episode. But, that doesn't necessarily mean it will be shown. Just ask Michael Parkinson.  :(

........... Richard Madeley has also definitely filmed an episode.

No doubt that will be one long plug for his book about his ancestry  ::)
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

What happened to Michael Parkinson?! I thought I'd also seen a trailor on UK tv for the US version (would watch out of desperation) but I haven't seen it since, perhaps I was just dreaming?!  ::)

Apparently they film up to 12 episodes, or start filming, but any that are either not interesting or the subject matter has been covered before, they drop!

If they don't want to show these "uninteresting" episodes in the series why not show then on BBC 4 or something ?

Well, thank goodness! I was beginning to think WDYTYA was another one of those programmes the BBC had quietly 'dropped'. It seems absolutely ages since the last series (or perhaps I've just got withdrawal symptoms!).

I've just read in an article in the Radio Times about Richard Madeley that they're doing a WDYTYA programme on him - should be interesting. I know he gets a lot of stick - what with the whole Richard & Judy thing - but he seems a nice bloke.

Who on earth is Konnie Hug? Never heard of him (her?). Still, they're sometimes the best programmes!!

I also thought I'd read that the BBC were going to show some of the US WDYTYA progs. I had a vague idea April was mentioned - probably put back by this bl....y election!! They really should get their priorities right!!  ;)

That explains it then!

Last time I watched Blue Peter, John Noakes was still telling Shep to get down!!

With a name like Konnie Hug - are we talking trips to faraway places?
