Help please, Which Great Aunt is it??
« on: Monday 03 May 10 19:51 BST (UK) »
Hi Folks  :)

I have had such a wonderful day yesterday, two parcels of original family photo's arrived in the mail....Yahoo!!!  I am so excited I could burst.  I have never seen most of these pics or some of the people in them at all, so really great stuff....  But some of the pics are identified incorrectly, some I know, but some I have no idea, so I am turning to you for help.... (yep, that's where you come in...)  I have had a copy of this pic for ages, I was told it was my Great Aunt Lotte (Charlotte), but yesterday another better copy arrived, with the following on the back

Charlotte Smith
Jess Smith
Kate Smith

So is it Lotte or Kate or perhaps even Jess, but I believe Jess had dark hair!!.  I have the wedding pics of both Lotte and Kate, so am posting for comparision.  Lotte is on the left, Kate is on the right and the new pic is below

Thank you for your time, I do hope we can solve this.  There is a family resemblance between the girls.  I will also post a later pic of Kate too, when she is a few years older

Cheers in advance for any help... I have to go now to drool over all my lovely new treasures..... ;D ;D

I may have to post some more later, as some of the pics are only labelled Smith girls and I may need your help again, sorry  :-\.

Hi Lones  ;D

My tuppence worth, but I think 1 and 3 are a match, and 2 and 4 match, so I guess that means I'm saying the one in the centre is Lotte, if I've read your post correctly.

I should add, there is a very strong resemblance between them, but 1 and 3 appear to have the same thicker upper lip and their overall expressions match if that makes sense, while 2 and 4 eyes match more to me and both those pics have for want of a better word "softer" expression to them.

Cheers

Hi Lones

I agree with Caz, the new piccie is of Charlotte - same eyes and mouth, etc.

The lower photo of Kate is also the same as the Kate on the right  but not at all the same as the new photo.

Sounds a bit double Dutch - hope you get what I mean  ;D

Thanks Cazz  :)

2 and 4 are definatley the same, that is Kate, she is older in 4 than in 2.

I too think 3 is Lotte, that is what I was told originally, but these new photo's threw me out and I started to worry.

They are both beautiful women, must be where I get it from  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have some others I might post too, just to get your opinion.  There are pics that I have never seen before and I have one sister I have no pics of, so hopefully she is one of them....  I now have pics of all five brothers.. Yahoo the last one arrived in this lot, I have been searching for him for ages.  He died in WWI and no one had a pic of him, but I do now... So now I only have to find Adeline Jesse and I have all nine children.

Thanks for you opinion, I value it

Cheers

Hi,

For my 2 cents, I think it is Kate as per the back of the photo.

Hi Gadget

Sorry our posts must have crossed.   Thank you, you have confirmed what I think too.  I was sure it was Charlotte, but then they threw me with the whole Kate bit.

I am glad it is Charlotte, now I have 2 pics of her.

Less than a month till I am in your part of the world, I hope the weather is nice.. ;D

Cheers

Hi Jamsuzsar

Well that throws a spanner in the works  :-\, any reason you think so?  I thought Kate had a sharper nose.

Thanks for your opinion, I appreciate all views

Hi Joy  :)

Yep, you can take the high road and I'll take the low road... ;D

I will email you when I am leaving and we can arrange to meet for that cuppa...

Thanks for your input, I really want it to be Lotte.  Both ladies died fairly young, leaving small children.  No one living remembers either of them sadly.
