Hello Eva.

Slight blip - you sent my message back without your e-mail address.  (twice)  ???

Press on reply on my message.

The 1942/43 City Directory find by Erato does put the aprrox date of death for Ellen on by a few years now.

Just curiosity - I noticed your name, Illingworth.  There are many quite prominent Illingworths here in Ecuador, including a vice president back in about 1950.  Any connection?

Hi Erato

Sorry, no I'm not related - as far as I know.  My relatives from my mother going back in time were Irish. Illingworth was on my father's side of the family from Yorkshire England.

Hi Erato

It's interesting that John Illingworth came from Stockport in England.  You never know perhaps he left a family behind in England.

I wanted to ask you about the 4 people in the household  where you had typed below are there any names
also is that an actual telephone number and what is Polks?

Jackson, Ellen M. Mrs., 1331 Cedar Ave., between Brook and Cherry Streets, 4 people in household, tel:  3-2076 and what is Polks

No, there are no names given for the other members of the household.  Yes, presumably that was her phone number.  Polk’s was a company that made city directories.

The exchanges were left off the telephone numbers then.  There's information about the way telephone numbers used to be written here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_exchange_names
