Furness - Darlington Durham
« on: Monday 03 May 10 07:53 BST (UK) »
Hi

My husband is a Furness from the Darlington branch (John Furness and Ann Shutt)  we are compiling the tree and wondered if anyone out there is related to us and can help with the gaps - we do have a fair bit of info now thanks to other distant cousins and Ancestry and a friend lol but would be nice to get back and forwards as far as we can

Hi and welcome to rootschat
It would be helpful if you could give an idea of dates and what information you already have, bearing in mind that we do not put any details of living people on rootschat.
Regards
Andrea

Hi Andrea

Can we link to trees? we have a tree so far and although it does include "living" it doesnt give dates of births etc just names?

failing that we go from John Furness and Ann Shutt (married in 1761) and are following that currently.  presently I am "gap filling" so am trying to follow the sons of William Furness and Ann Sidgwick (Sedgewick) married 1822 - am doing Thomas born 1829 and Charles born 1837 - done the other boys as far as possible so far lol

William Furness was the son of Francis Furness and Margaret Woodmass married 1796

It is best not to give any indication of living people, even if dates are removed.  Anything posted on rootschat can be picked up on a google search so the possibility of identity theft is endless if unscrupulous people pick it up.
Do you have any census records for the younger ones?
Andrea

we have some 1901 stuff lol

currently after Thomas born 1829 and Charles born 1837 to fill in the William and Ann Group - i have this group on the 1841, 1851 and on 1861 some are still living together, after that i lose them and cant find who they married either which is a problem but i will sort it before i move on to the next group lol

Hi again!
I have sent you a PM regarding my Sedgwicks which basically says that I am trying to get them into some sensible order to see if we can establish a link.  There are a huge amount of them  (John Sedgwick married four times and had about 14 children) so there is plenty to keep me amused!
