Wonder if there is still an archivist for KX? I have a grave number and was hoping to be able to visit grave.

Isn't King Cross Cemetery one of those which has been landscaped, with some of the headstones now propped up against the perimeter walls ?
Halifax FHS might have a booklet.

I just saw a photo taken in Feb 2010. It looks like I might need a machete. I will try Halifax FHS.

Lani, Is the Cem you are talking about the one with methodist burials?  Maybe it's Wesleyan Methodists?

I have two residents from Crossley Almshouses who were buried in methodist KingsX cem in late 1890s.  Wonder if we're on the same page in this?

Yes, I was told it's the KX Wesleyan cemetery. My great grandfather was buried there in 1903.
Sorry for the delay in answering, I do not live in the UK but am planning on visitng in June.

I can help you find the grave if you have the section no and grave no, i have photographed the maps and made an exel file to try and find graves belonging to my family,
I live fairly close and visit often,

I have a grave number but the gentleman at the archives did not mention a section. It is grave number 734.

Andy, May I ask a favour please?
If you are visiting the cem and taking photos would it be possible for you to look for the grave of my two that I was discussing earlier in the thread?
They are James Hargreaves d. 1895 in grave 798 and his wife, Ann Hargreaves, 1896 in same grave I believe.  They both died in the Crossley Almshouses so maybe there is a headstone erected by that charity.
Like Jan, I have no section number, just the grave number.  I wonder if the Cem is divided into denominational areas as most are in Aus.They were methodists.
I hope you don't mind me asking Andy... and Jan hope it's OK to do this on your thread :-[
