Purkins - death? marriage?
« on: Sunday 02 May 10 00:03 BST (UK) »
I have found that my grandfather's brother Harry Purkins b 1897 in Marylebone, London emigrated in 1929 on the Aurania to Halifax Nova Scotia with his wife Letitia and a daughter Eva born 1916.

He apparently came back to Newcastle to visit his brother some time in WW2. We believe he returned to Canada and married again.

We don't where he lived or died or if his daughter Eve married or whether he went on to have more children. This has been a brick wall for years so any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Barbara

Was he the Harry PURKINS who had previously been married to Sarah Kate CRITTENDEN (married 1920, National Archives divorce file dated 1924 with co-respondent cited as Alfred PURKINS)?

I can't see a marriage to Letitia, or a birth of Eva as PURKINS, but perhaps you have those details.

Thanks for the return journey info. I had no idea he came back for good. As for the divorce, who knows. He did have a brother Alfred! He is proving very elusive.
