There actually seems to be a possible earlier divorce in 1919
http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/1463198?searchTerm=%22deed+v+deed%22
 - mentions "D'Elton" as co-respondent.

If you look on the PROV site there's a list to divorce casebooks which confirms this as the right one:
Benjamin Deed, Amelia Deed, and Alfred D'Elton.

Good work. At last we have established that Benjamin and Amelia divorced. Is there any record that Amelia remarried? and who is the Daphne Amelia Deed living with Benjamin in 1924 posted by c more? I cant find in Vic bdm any records to match a marriage, death or birth of these folk.

Electoral enrolments are no guarantee that the person named is actually living at that address.  The enrolments are for the period between elections and of course people to move and often fail to re-enrol.  I doubt that Amelia was living at 6 Charles Street, Windsor on 14 Dec 1919...date of election.

According to the 1924 electoral roll, the enrolment for Daphne Amelia DEED appeared to be an addition.  Different sized font that the other listings on the page.  I wonder if she was an unmarried partner.

Hi Cando,

I agree that DAPHNE was a likely a new partner for BENJAMIN, the 'Amelia' being 'co-incidence" or "contrivance" who knows.

Well, it appears, does it not, that AMELIA did not marry the co-respondent afterall .

Not very likely, but worth noting this marriage in NSW

In 1933  TAMSITT,  JOHN to  BUTTON , AMELIA M at BROKEN HILL reg.12268

We have not seen any middle initial or name for AMELIA so...?
