Hi Everyone

I have a couple of variations for Jerome, Girolamo and Gerolamo, interesting about not having a J in their alphabet. Also very interesting about the birth records not being available before 1860 (archives). The records that i have of Albertino and Jerome are not consistent in Albertinos birth place. 1911 says  Palma and the the 1891 says Piaenza (need to brush up on my georgraphy)

Thank so much for all your help

Sharon.

Just one more thing for now - if i contacted  Archivio di stato of Parma for details about their marriage would Jeromes name and only Albertina (no surname) be enough information for them to go on - i can assume only dates.

Thanks you are all so kind

Have you tried www.familysearch.org
the Mormons have films of births, deaths and marriages for many places in Italy.
You may be able to find a Family History Centre near where you live and once you order a film you have to go there to view the actual records.
I was trying to copy a link for you but at the moment the site seems to be on maintanence and is on the 'go slow'
If you want to try later log into the site scroll down on the home page to where it says 'Find a Family history Centre' type in where you live it will bring up a list of the nearest FHC to where you live.
to get to the list of films available you click on 'Library' then on the drop down menu choose Library catalogue click on that then choose 'key word search' now type in the comune/place in Italy you are wanting to search click again and it will take you to another page with the name of the place if its in their records and if you look up in the top right hand corner you will see a box saying 'films available' click on that and it will bring up a list of all the years of birth death marriage records that they have films available to hire.
Hope this helps
