Hi
Miss Winifred Evans's obituary appears in Yr Herald Cymraeg 25/01/1960.
According to this she was former headmistres of Ysgol y Babanod (Infants School), Penygroes. Report says she died, 'Friday before last', and was buried at Macpela Cemetery, Penygroes.
There is a list of mourners, giving their family relationship, if any, to the deceased. I don't know if you already have this information. If not, I'll send it to you by PM as some of the younger mourners might still be alive.
I'll make enquiries at Gwynedd Archives re possible source of further info re Winifred.
Nearly forgot (!), at time of death she lived at Penhegan (in print so no deciphering problem); will try and find out where the house is/was.

Hi
Checked the 1959/1960 Electoral List, and both Margaret and Winifred Evans were then living at 4 Victoria Terrace, Nantlle. So it appears that Penhegan was the name of a house in a terrace. Referring to my PM, I now have telephone number and exact address, of the person who can put me in contact with a person born, bred and lived in Nantlle, from c. 1940 to c. 1980, I worked with 1967 - 1973.

I would be so grateful for any information re Winnie , her sister Maggie, and their siblings.

Winnie and Maggie had brother Evan Evans born 1890, who was in the Merchant Navy aboard "Dolbardan Castle" - no info on him after 1911. Not mentioned in report of mourners at Winnie's funeral. I have photograph of him, taken aboard this ship with other crew members.

Also sister,Laura Jane born born 1892, married a Robert S.Williams ,and sister, Jennie born 1900, who married a Harold Williams.  Both these ladies were mentioned in the report.
