Gadget I will look into the farm area.  I am planning a holiday in the area and would love to find out if the mill is still standing.  One of the neighbours (now I've looked properly) is a farmer of 80 acres!

Saddles, my gt gt Grandfather's name is Thomas Price born 1853 in Ruabon, Denbighshire.  He is at the address I'm trying to read in 1861 living with his parents Charles & Elizabeth.  The reference from the census page is RG9/4261/101/8.  I hope this helps.

I've got most of the Ruabon parish records*, Goofy - but not sure that they are up to 1853 but if you need earlier  ones, just give me a shout

Thanks Gadget I will bear that in mind.     Not sure how far back I want to go though as this is my father's side and I know very little about my grandfather even!
