They tried a while ago and again more recently to get family history societies to transcribe Parish Registers, unfortunately there were no takers.

One of the items on the Pilot scheme is the Irish BMD Registers, so presumably whatever they can get their hands on, already transcribed, is what is going up there.

The Durham Diocesan Bishops Transcripts are on the Pilot Site. They are in scanned form, i.e. not transcribed or searchable by keyword. However, they are a tremendous boon to researchers with an interest in Durham and Northumberland.

Durham Wills are also to go on the pilot site, hopefully later this year. These have apparently been indexed and will be searchable by name and place, after which one will be able to a view a digital image of the actual document. http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/index.htm

I have used the Durham records on the Pilot site and they have proven very helpful.

I found the Cheshire ones somewhere, ages ago, it might have been the Pilot scheme, not sure how long that's been running, and they were copies of the originals. I found my g.grandmother's baptism.

Is it the intention that the "submissions" will still be available to researchers outside of the Mormon church  but separated from the extracted records? I ask because there are apparently major alterations to be made to Legacy 7 in the fairly near future, members of LDS already have access while outsiders do not yet have it.

Have you got Legacy 7 de-luxe or the free download?  I have the de-luxe and there was an update yesterday so that I now have Legacy 7.4.  There were lots of alterations, the most obvious being that each name on the family page now has two arrows in the name box one above the other, one facing left and one facing right.  If you click on them you are taken to the first screen, (first photo) where it does a search for any matches with the names on the LHS (I clicked on one of my ancestors), then it takes you to the second screen (second photo).

Lizzie, I parted with money to buy Legacy 7, so I have the deluxe. Last time I was in I declined to check for an update as I was pressed for time, and the net was very slow so I left it. Will download this afternoon. Thanks for info.

Hope I've caught you in time.  I've just downloaded an update of the update!!  There were some hitches with the update I downloaded a few days ago, one being the font size wouldn't stay set, so I ended up with the Family page and others in gigantic font size and the home page in a font size so small I couldn't read it.  Anyway I'm now on Version: 7.4.0.38. which I expect is the one you'll find on your home page.  If not go to their website and download that one.

If you've got relationships set, i.e. self, wife, mother, father etc. you will have to re-set those, but that's easy enough, Tools, Set Relationship.
