How long are GRO certs taking?

Hi folks

I ordered 2 certs from GRO on the 22 March still no sign of them. Ordered 1 same day from Lancashire reg office and it arrived within a few days!!!

When should i expect to see my cert? !!!

When you received your acknowledgement, what date did they quote for despatch?

If you add 4 days for the delays, then 7 'working' days (don't include Saturdays and the Easter hols) and they still aren't here, you could make a claim here

You have to wait at least 7 'working' days after the due despatch date before you can claim (see below) they've gone astray in the post.

Mine should arrive next week as no post this morning for me. Although the priority one may arrive tomorrow.

My last one ordered on the 24th with a dispatch date of 30th March arrived this morning

The date printed was 7th April, so looks like the delay is approx about 1 week

After what people have said I was not surprised to find they hadn't come this morning. I understand we have to be patient due to the increase in the orders and the fact that it was Easter last weekend.

So that will be the extra 4 days the GRO website quotes,plus 3 extra days for the 4 day easter hols

Pity they dont have a Sunday shift for postmen. At least it is only one day of the week they dont work.

I ordered mine on 26th March with a despatch date of the 6th April, but no sign of them yet

Never underestimate death certs. I have found several that say there was an inquest held or PM.
