TYLER in Lenham 1700s
« on: Friday 23 April 10 03:46 BST (UK) »
G'day

I have Charles and Mary TYLER's children born from 1720's and William and Sylvester TYLER's children born 1760's onward.

Can anyone shed light on these familes?
Is William the son of Charles?
Where is Charles from?
Anything about TYLER in Lenham before 1838 gratefully received.

Thanks for you attention

There is a will for Charles TYLER of Lenham made in 1775, probate granted in 1778

Wills can be full of interesting information. :D

Only a few TYLER baptisms in Lenham.
Two later ones (1916/8) one very early (1568) one in 1809 (Philadelphia, dau of George & Mary) one in 1833 (Charles, son of Thomas & Anna)

And five children for William & Silvester/Selvester.
Let me know if you don't have the details & would like them.

Thanks Bearcat

The marriage for Anne is William's eldest.  A good start.

The will looks like a good bet for the Charles that I am chasing.  Thanks particularly for teaching me how to access Kent wills.  Excellent!!

Thanks BettyofKent
I figure Charles was born mid 1690s and William's youngest was born abt 1783 so I can't connect with your dates.  I have no mention of a Charles jnr or Thomas or George as yet but I'll keep them handy just in case.
I'll PM about the christenings.  Great work!
