MONUMENTAL INSCRIPTIONS St Mary Sculcoates North side
« on: Thursday 22 April 10 12:14 BST (UK) »
I don't know if this is the right place but if anyone needs a lookup, I have borrowed this book from my library till 10 May.  It was produced by E Yorks Fam Hist Soc.

The Lavins I was researching must have been buried on the south side  :)

Let me know on here and I will check for you.

Hi JenfromLancs

What dates are the MIs?  I have ancestors who died in Hull, but not sure whether it was Sculcoates.

Would you mind looking for Thomas (Boulton) Benson born 1857 died in Hull Infirmary in 1893, also his wife Selina Benson born 1860 died 1901.  Also their daughter Selina Benson born 1890 died 1903.

Then if it's not too much trouble, Maria Wright born 1843 died 1928 and George William Wright born about 1857 died 1935.

Many thanks.
Lizzie

Hi Jen
I hoping you'll be able to help  :)
Sorry I have a Smith family!!
Particularly
Robert Smith died 1873 and his wife Elizabeth who died after 1902... I think.
Any Smiths really  ;D
I also have Lucy Underdown about 1903 and her husband Emmanuel (Richard) in 1930
Other names
Caroline and Thomas Mills dates unknown
William Richards after 1911

Is this too much?? If it is, just the Smiths will do

Fingers crossed they are buried on the north side
Many thanks Sylvia

Lizzie W   I now have the South Side on loan too so will do looks up in both.

Thos Benson/Boulton - nil.

Wrights are in both North and South but not I think yours:

South - Maria, widow of George, died 1880.  A different George died 1853.
North - George died 1928 (no Maria).

ladybird - there are too many Smiths to give all of them but if you want me to check individual names with any dates you have, let me know.

Your  Underdowns and Mills not on N or S sides.

Quite a few gravestones were lost before the FHS was able to record them.

Thanks for looking Jen.  I suppose they're all somewhere underneath the ground in Hull, probably under a ring road or something by now. ;D

Can I be cheeky and ask for another look up.  Are there any Aldens?  Or Mumbys, specifically George Reuben Mumby 1818-1900, Mary Ann Mumby 1821-1878, Mary Ann Mumby 1782-1866.

Many thanks.

Lizzie

Hello JenfromLancs,

Can I take you up on your kind offer?

I have "lost" a Stephen Spencer who I know was baptising children at Sculcoates until about 1837 - his wife Mary is shown on the 1841 census as a widow, but I've never found a death for him.

If you come across any Oldhams or Omblers, I would be so grateful if you could let me know.

Thank you very much,

So sorry - didn't come back in and find your questions.  The books have gone back to the library.
