can someone help me please?
« on: Friday 25 March 05 07:53 GMT (UK) »
I have got back to my 5th grt grandparents..
Richard Gilson who married Francis Pickering 24th Dec 1723 at Brotherton, Yorkshire.
I cannot find when Richard was born or where. I am trying to get back to his parents.
I have done researched this back a couple of times thinking I may be on the wrong lineage but I always end up with the same answer.....
I am finding it really hard to find Richard Gilson parents.
Could anyone with more knowledge then me please help?

You might want to try this website  www.knottingley.org   Ron Gosney from the Pontefract & District FHS is kindly offering to help (for free) try and trace local families from that area.  A lot of the parish records are very badly degraded and really hard to read - Ron is a bit of an expert in transcribing and I'm confident he'll help if he can.  Worth a try.

Best of Luck
