Hi i would like any help with this branch as it is driving me crazy
Hector is on the 1901 census and 1911 living carlisle but born london, cant find a birth for him anywhere at all !! so cant find his mothers maiden name so cant find his parents marrage !! parents were william edgar and elizabeth living pack horse lane in 1901william was a policeman but didnt register in cumberland so no info there, living at stanwixs carlisle in 1911 .so without some more info i cant find williams and elizabeths deaths either !! think hector might have ended up living in bournemouth now not sure if its him or not?? could he get married without a birth certificate

hector is transcribed as just frederick in the 1911 census,,,and is shown as born Carlisle,,,,nearest birth i can find is

    have sent for the marrage certificate to see if it holds any clues!! i dont think thats my fredrick edgar as traced that one with another family in 1901,

Recieved the marrage certificate and its not my william edgar this one married a margaret frost and his dad was called nicholas not one of my family at all,im so confussed

That's a shame.  That's the other woman on the page.

Strange though: also 1891, there is a William Edgar at Bubwith,Yorkshire - not a huge place - railway signalman with mother, Jane widow and siblings, Frederick G 12, Gwendoline 10 and Walter7.  He is son 24 b Barrow in Furness!

Same age as1901!

Looking at a wider date range, wehavequite a few posibilities -some wulld be a second marriage - including one in Barrow and a very early one Carlisle, 1881 to Eliza Sharp - stetching age range and needs census check.

As you sy, reallyneeds Hector's birth cetificate!

There is indeed William Edgar atTodhills, b 1864 with widowed mother Jane b 1817 and siblings, Georgina, Daniel, John.
(5161/93 on RG11).
