You say "They (the whole family) seem to disappear for 14 years - all of them. "  So, does that mean that they all appear in Australia in the 1840's, or only John Jr?  Sorry, I'm just trying to get a better picture.

Sorry - only John Jnr appears in Australia in the 1840's. the others just disappear.
