 ???

If it helps, William & Catherine's childrens names were:
William, Robert, John, Thomas & George, (possibly a Mary & an Andrew)

Unfort' no listing of a George & Mary in Dalton having a James in the 1790's in Scotland.
They had an Andrew, Robert Hudson & William - unless James in an older half brother or something.

Then there's Thomas Holliday & Elizabeth Little in Troqueer with a James (1792)& William (1795). Could this William be an older deceased brother?

Aargh !!!

You're all GREAT by the way !! ;D

Hi Julie,

I've just come across your post. It was a while ago, but I wanted to ask if you had got any further in your search. William Holliday is also my Great, Great, Great Grandfather - with my descendants moving down through his son Thomas - and I'm just beginning to look further into the Holliday line.

I don't think I have much more information than you, but I am planning to visit the ScotlandsPeople Centre in the coming weeks, and so will be able to open up greater search possibilities there than online.

Are you still looking into William Holliday?

Hello Scotchprofessor,
Because I'd posted two (not very helpful) additions to this thread I had an alert of your new contribution.
I've just looked at Julie's profile and it seems that she hasn't logged onto the site since October 2010 so may not see your message
Hopefully she will come back again sometime and see your post, but in the meantime good luck with your own research
