DWYER
« on: Tuesday 18 May 04 01:13 BST (UK) »
researching John Dwyer born c1774 in Ireland.  Transported to Australia on Atlas11 in 1802 as a Irish Rebel.  He said he came from the town of Doon and named the house he built out here Doon Cottage.
I have posted the same name under Limerick as well.  I have been told that Doon can come under either county.

Any help appreciated

Janette :)

Hi Janette

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Tigger

Many thanks for taking the time to look and answer my post, but I didn't expect too much, as I had so little to go on.
We are visiting Doon, and Ireland in May this year and hope to look up the parish registers, if we are allowed.
I am in Australia, so it will be a long trip.

Thanks again
Janette

Hi Janette,
I'm pretty sure this Dwyer is my gggGrandfather   John Dwyer, married Elizabeth Gurney about 1813 NSW. and had 9 children. Would like to hear from you to see if we have a connection.
Cheers,
Lynette
