Hi Tony N.

I am researching my own and my wife's family tree. I have found that my wife's gt grandmother was born as julia (o) neill, daughter of a william (o) neill in the newcastle area, about ten miles north east of rathdrum.  I am in an internet cafe so haven't got everything to hand but I think julia married a john maguire from newcastle co. wicklow. I have a copy of that marriage cert. I will get back to you because we could be looking for the same details. feel free to e-mail me if you don't hear back.

regards,

karl o' neill

Hi karloneill,

The Julia Neill we are trying to trace, gave up her son for adoption.  Would the name Hayes appear on you tree.
The father of her child might have been Hayes.  We don't know if she married the child's father. The child born to Julia was registered as Thomas Hayes.  He died in 1974 and there ends any contact we might have been able to establish.

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry in the delay in replying
