I thank everyone for your help, you're wonderful. William Hendry Douglas married Annie Walker had 14 children (lost 7) are listed on the 1891 census in Gateshead on Burdon St, 1901 Warwick St, 1911 South St., and yes he is only listed once I think as born in Ford, the rest just read Northumberland. Having said that and knowing so very little in fact I started out with my grand mothers maiden name and her mother's maiden name, found the marriage in 1884 and am trying to work back from that. I have had hunches and have bought several birth and marriage certificates for his father Thomas but gosh without family input I am working on assumptions. i.e. if Ford was birthplace, then parents would have lived within a ten mile radius as they were labourers, would have walked everywhere. Yes, it was just a guess that enumerators wrote on the census papers, shame on me, schools have existed for eons lol. I am going to travel to the UK next year and will endeavor to glean as much info as possible.
