Wrexham baptism please
« on: Tuesday 13 April 10 11:52 BST (UK) »
I would be very grateful if someone was able to look up a baptism for me please.
I live in Australia so not easy for me!
I have just finally traced an ancestor William Ellis Jones back to Wrexham based on his death certificate. Should be born in Wrexham about 1822
Parents Ellis Jones and Susan
Also if you see any record of their marriage I would be very happy indeed.
Glad to have found a second Welsh ancestor.

Hi schmick and welcome to RC,
Have you been able to trace him any census in Wales? When did he arrive in Australia?

The 1841 census for the Wrexham area is missing and so not available online but there is a 1841 census booklet for Wrexham town centre available, produced by the Clwyd FHS.

Thanks
According to his death certificate he came to Australia about 1854 so would hopefully be in the census

Hi schmick

Was your William Ellis Jones a convict?

Also any idea of his trade or occupation in OZ?

No I don't think he was a convict ( I do have some of those in other branches of the family).
He was a builder
