 hi i am very new at this sort of thing . i need to find out where william shand born 30 april 1940 was born. i dont know whether it was scotland uk or englanduk he died 2007 in wochester andwas cremated in worchester cemetary,  any ideas would be greatly appreciated.......david shand

A copy of his death certificate should show where he was born, but only if the informant had accurate information.

There is the birth of a William Shand in England that may fit,but in case it's not him and this one is still alive I can't post it here!

There are no William Shand's registered in in the England & Wales birth index for April/May/June 1940

There is one for the next quarter July/Aug/Sept.

Do you know what his mother's maiden surname was ie the surname she had before she married Mr Shand?

dawn ....thanks for this information about william shand born 30 apeil 1940 i am not sure where,, could you indicate the information about his birth in more detale . ..i also know and found that he died 29 june 2007 in  worchester england uk and he has four children XXXX  and a wife XXXX.....david shand....just getting started.

Do you have his death cert from 2007? if so this should say where he was supposedly born.
