where is "Haynford rectory" re Middleton's
« on: Wednesday 23 March 05 21:25 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Can anyone please help me.

Frank Edward MIDDLETON was the vicar at "Haynford", he lived in the rectory presumably next door, as shown in the 1881 census.

The problem I am having is that various member's of his family are buried in the church grounds. In particular I am searching for Eva Pakenham MIDDLETON's grave.

Eva died after child birth in 1887. She was the daughters of my g-g-g uncle.

(originally her name was Lady Eva Pakenham JOHNSTONE, born 1859, Dublin)

Any help would be much appreciated

Try HAINFORD.

There is a village of this name in Norfolk.

Hi, I'm back

The small church on Newton Road is All Saints, it has a rectory  but no grave yard
The other church on Waterloo Road was I believe also All Saints, it is a derelict building and has nothing to indicate
what its name was, the church itself  is fenced of to the public but  the site itself has quite a few graves some of which
appear relatively resent.
Unfortunately it rained heavily all the time I was there so I had no chance to examine individual graves.
As far as I know these are the only two churches in Hainford.
If you would like me to look for an individual grave let me know.
Hope this is of some help.

Hi Ray

Thank you so much for having a look for me.

If you do manage to go the grave yard could you please look up the inscription for Eva Pakenham MIDDLETON, born 1859, died at the end of 1887, she was the wife of Frank Edward MIDDLETON , who was the vicar at the church for a number of years.

I am going to Ireland and will be back on the 7th, so if you post a reply and don't get "thanks" it's because I mot here.

Thanks again

Hi Ray

Thank you for spending the time to look for me. I have only just arrived back from Ireland ( still no better off genealogically wise!!), and have been unable to reply beforehand. I really apreciate your kindness, but do not worry about any photo's as another extremely kind person on Genes has beat you to it.

Once again thank you for your time and effort.
