Hi Angela,

This is more a general question. When you go to the LDS Centre do you have access to the "Scottish Church Records" CD. This index is apparently more complete than the IGI and searchable. I was just wondering if it would be possible to check a couple of lookups if you can use the CD. I mailed the LDS last month about the possibility of puchasing it but they let me know it is not for sale but that every Scottish LDS centre has one.

Yes its available for lookup at the lds let me know details of what you want looked up it maybe a few weeks before i go back again but will check it out for you when i go.it seems to have more records it isnt something i have looked at very often though.

Cheers, that would be great. The chances are slim but it's my last hope. If the births are not on there then I think they must not have been registered. If you need more info let me know. The people below were all the children of Hugh Marr and Mary Drummond, the ones in green I already have off the IGI:

Hugh Marr, born 8/2/1824 in Barony, Lanark.
Margaret Marr, born abt 1826 in Barony Lanark
Robert Marr, born 19/1/1828 in Barony, Lanark.
Janet Marr, born 16/1/1830 in Barony, Lanark.
Thomas Marr, born abt 1837 in Barony Lanark
Richard (Bradbrook) Marr, born abt 1840 in Barony Lanark
Helen (Bradbrook) Marr, born abt 1840 in Barony Lanark
Janet Marr, born abt 1843 in Barony Lanark  (the earlier Janet died)

i checked the scottish parish church records cd for you but there was more info on the IGI instead of the cd im afraid.But there was one diffence on there Robert was Listed as the son of John Marr and Mary Drummond instead of Hugh Marr.None of the other kids were on there im afraid.

Thanks for looking. I didn't hold out much hope but more importantly it puts my mind at rest. There is nothing worse that a nag at the back of your mind that something might actually be there.

I've actually got the entry for Robert as he is a direct descendant- my gx3 grandfather. As you pointed out it is indexed wrongly saying his father is John. The actually records clearly says Hugh so I'm not sure how that happened.
